Septfonds - is a small village 1km from the house. There are two bakers, a butcher, general store and several hairdressers. A very small market takes place on Wednesday morning. There are 2 or 3 very good restaurants nearby and an excellent pizza take way.

St Antonin Noble Val is 10 minutes drive away. St Antonin is noted for having the oldest town hall in France and many other interesting buildings, often a favourite of local artists. There is an excellent market every Sunday, both for local produce and craft items. St Antonin has two small supermarkets, several bars and restaurants, a variety of small shops and a cinema which often shows English version films! St Antonin is also a centre for outdoor activities. Canoeing, rock climbing, horse riding and paragliding are all available nearby. It also has an excellent general market on a Monday and brocante sales form time to time. | Further afield you can explore the historic towns of Albi and Villefranch de Rouergue, the dramatic scenery of the Aveyron Gorge, the Gaillac and Cahors vineyards and the fortified hilltop villages of Penne, Najac and Cordes-Sur-Ciel (to name but a few!) For children and the young at heart!
There are a number of activities/visits to suit children within an hours drive of Bacquies.
Some of the favourites are Agrip Adventure, climbing through the trees on trails, swinging from zip wires etc.
Cap D'ecouverte, a fun park with dry ski slope, sledding, zip wires, fun pools, waterslides inflatables.
Gold du Totche, small golf course bucket of balls for the range at 1 euro, great for the kids
Zoo/safari park near Toulouse
Animapac, the other side of Montauban is a mini theme park, best for those up to 10.
